Hail Mary! The restoration is complete and puts the Blessed Mother back into her full glory, surrounded in the beauty of the lattice and flowers that grace the council hall. There are not enough thanks that can go to all those who worked hard to complete this project. She is a beautiful sight to see as she watches over our council!

Updating and improving our Council and Council Hall is a large undertaking. Help is needed in many areas, including building maintenance. Volunteers are need for many projects in the works, so please contact DGK Mike Hooker and see where you can help your Council!

DeLuna Council 0156 Color Corp

The celebration of Pensacola's 450th birthday started with the re-enactment of the landing of DeLuna at Pensacola Beach, and concluded with a mass by Bishop Ricard escorted by the DeLuna Council Color Corp.

The weather was threatening, but the ceremony was rain free as several hundred gathered to celebrate the strong Catholic presence in Pensacola.

Council 778 in Action with ARC Gateway

The following story is from ARC Gateway taken from their "Red Wagon News" highlighting the efforts of Council 778, and the presentation of the check with the money raised from our Tootsie Roll Campaign. The success for all the charities we support is due to the hard work and dedication of all members of 778, and is welcome news to the community we serve.

"At the first Board meeting of 2009-2010, our friend and former
Board member, Dave DeNadal , and Board member, Bobby Tronu, presented a check to Donna Fassett from the Knights Council 778 for $6,500. This check is one of several that ARC Gateway receives from area councils as a result of the Annual Tootsie Roll Drive. Dave thanked everyone who volunteered to work the Tootsie Roll Drive and looks forward to seeing you all again next year!"

The tootsie roll drive is coming again and we are going to need all Knights to help man the buckets.

Congratulations to our newest First Degree member:

Mike Comerford

The first degree exemplification was held at Little Flower on July 31 where Mike Comerford participated and completed the first degree. Congratulations, and welcome to Council 778. Now on to your Second Degree!

Many thanks to St Therese of Lisieux Council 13389 for hosting the degree.

The Fourth Degree Color Corp serves in many capacities, and is looking for new members to help carry on this rich tradition of Knighthood.

NW/SW Deanery 2009

The NW/SW Deanery was held on May 30 at Catholic High School, and the Knights of Columbus were there in force.

And there were many who helped with the tables and chairs (moving them to and from the council hall), setup, parking, and cleanup. So many happy faces on those who enjoyed the festive day filled with food, music, and games. It was a day of fun for all ages!

Fr. John Licari becomes our new Chaplain!
