Celebrate Our Nations Birthday!
Join us downtown for a day and evening filled with great food, kids activities, and the largest fireworks show on the Gulf Coast!
Great Job! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to make the Rummage Sale a success, especially the ladies who worked long hours with the setup, pricing, and managing the crowds.
Council Hall Clean up Continues Our council hall needs constant maintenance, and that maintenance does not happen without you! We are embarking on projects that will help improve our appearance for not only our membership, but for those who rent out the hall for their special functions. On the first Wednesday of each month we are gathering at the Council Hall, 6:00 PM, to complete maintenance on the hall, parking lot, and the landscaping. Since we have started this much needed program we have stripped and waxed the main hall floor, and painted part of the hall walls and trim work. There is a lot more work to be done, and we need every member to help out where they can. Not all projects require heavy work, so please help out as often as you can. ____________________________________________________________ Helping People with Intellectual Disabilities The "Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities" has ended. A giant THANK YOU to all the volunteers that helped with collections at various locations in the Pensacola area. A lot of time and effort was required to make this campaign a success, and with all the help and support from the members we made this year a great one!.
Eternal Father, we humbly offer Thee our poor presence, and that of the whole of humanity, from the beginning to the end of the world at all the Masses that ever have or ever will be prayed. We offer Thee all the pains, sufferings, prayers, sacrifices, joys, and relaxations of our lives, in union with those of our Lord Jesus here on earth. May the Most Precious Blood of Christ, all His Blood, Wounds, and Agony save us, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen. ____________________________________________________________
Pro Life
Pro Life, the fundamental right for the unborn to live. We are the voice of the unborn. The unborn human beings (babies) need our voices and actions to help them survive. Thank you to all that participated in the 40 Days for Life, including all those from other denominations, who put into action what our Lord has called us to do. Though the 40 Days For Life has come to a close, the work to save the unborn is still in full motion. There will be many more events in the coming months to bring awareness for the Pro Life cause. We are here to protect those who cannot protect themselves, the unborn. Pray for the children, born and unborn, to be protected from all harm.

Pensacola Council 778 On May 3rd, 1903, a Charter was granted to the Pensacola Council of the Knights of Columbus and numbered #778, and now has the honor of being the 4th oldest council in the Great State of Florida! Pensacola is a city rich in history and tradition, and holds the distinction of being the oldest settlement in the United States, predating St Augustine (1565) and Jamestown (1607). Let the festivities begin as Pensacola is hosting many activities that focus on our 450 year history, the first of which was a visit by the King and Queen of Spain, and most recently Spain's Juan Sebastián de Elcano, the world's third largest sailing ship. Pensacola has always had a strong Catholic presence since it was founded by the Spanish explorer Don Tristan de Luna de Arellano in 1559. The first mass held was on Santa Rosa Island, what is now known as Pensacola Beach, and is marked with a stone cross which was put up by the Knights of Columbus as part of the Quadra centennial celebration in 1959.
. The early inhabitants did not last long as a major hurricane ripped through the area and destroyed most of their supplies, and they soon departed the area and did not return until the seventeenth century. The cross however has withstood the forces of nature since it was first erected, including Hurricane Ivan which decimated the island and the dunes to the east and west. Pensacola Council 778 draws its membership from several parishes including the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, St Anne (Bellview), St John, St Michael, St Paul, and St Thomas Moore.
